Highlights of Budva
Budva is a coastal resort in Montenegro. It is often called Little Miami, because it is the most popular tourist resort in the country, with excellent beaches and vibrant nightlife.
Budva is developed around a small peninsula, on which the old town is situated. It is by far most visited resort in Montenegro. With a vibrant old town, bars, restaurants, nightclubs and beaches.
During the summer the nightlife offers opportunities to enjoy theatre plays and performances and music events.
The old town is next to the marina, where the rich come to moor their luxury yachts. The old town is small but picturesque, with restaurants and shops selling luxury goods.
Budva is only 20km away from Tivat Airport. It’s also very well connected by bus with cities within Montenegro and major cities in neighboring countries. Budva can be reached by car very easily using the coastal road. Travelling from Dubrovnik can take less than 2 hours depending on traffic. Also there is a short ferry journey costing only €5, this saves the drive around the bay of Kotor.
Why not visit Kotor?
Kotor is just few kms away from the biggest peninsula of Montenegro, Lustica. Home of donkeys and olives, excellent dining options also exist in this area. Moreover Tivat town with its most modern yachting marine of Montenegro is only 10 km away.
During the period from 15th May to 10th October the sea temperature is over 18°C, thereby offering the visitor an extended swimming season that can last for as long as 144 days.
Indeed the area of Kotor has a dry warm summer and a mild humid winter. Average annual temperature is 15.2 °C.
The warmest month is July with average air temperature of 25°C. The coldest is January with 7.4°C. Interestingly autumn is warmer than spring by about 2°C.
