Lima is the capital of Peru. It lies on the Pacific coast. The Plaza de Armas is in the main square of the old town of Lima. Many of its buildings are well preserved and you can see a lot of colonial architecture. Having said that, Lima is a thriving metropolitan city.
To understand Peru’s ancient history, visit Museo Larco. A museum which explains 5000 years of Peru’s ancient civilisations. Its erotic treasures draw much attention. Moreover there is an outstanding collection of art and treasures. It is the number one thing to do on visitors’ bucket lists. Not withstanding there are other museums rich in culture. The Amano Pre-Columbian Textile Museum displays textiles and ceramics in chronological order. It is a private collection well worth the visit.
