Highlights of Punakha
Punakha, house of the winter resident of the central monk body. The most magnificent fortress called the Punakha dzong is located here. It is a 17th century riverside palace. Built between the flowing of two rivers, the male and female.
It is a great place for cycling and river rafting. You can do two kinds of rafting here. For the experts you can do the male river which is the aggressive one with many rapids. For nature lovers and first timers, the female river rafting is recommended as it is gentle and can be traversed by young and old alike. Besides you can visit the famous fertility temple and also the nunnery.
