Highlights of Paro
Paro is a small town located to the north of thimphu valley . It is the place where the only international airport of Bhutan is located. Most of the visitors spend from two to three days here.
Here you can hike up to the Paro Taktshang, known as the tigers nest. It is the most beautiful temple, bold on the cliff above the Paro valley . The hike here is 5 to 6 hours up and down spending on how fast you can walk up.
If you are not into doing the hike up, paro has lots of other places to visit. Like the famous 7th century temple called the kichu. Also here you can visit the Paro Dzong(fortress) and the national museum above the dzong. The national museum holds lots of ancient things.
